About the breed

Known as "Gentle Giants"  they have an almost dog like personality.  We refer to them as PuppyCats.

Mainecoons are one of the largest domesticated breeds & one of the oldest natural breeds in North America.  They became a recognized breed in the 1860's.  Natural hunters, they are in the working class of felines.  The Mainecoon cat is intelligent & athletic with a loving personality.  There are a few theories on the origination of the Mainecoon breed.  With a quick search of the internet you can read the varying stories and decide which one you would like to believe.
